Seminar on atomic physics

Seminar usually takes place on Thursdays at 10:40 in our lesture room 10th floor in Trója, V Holešovičkách 2, Praha 8

Future seminars:

May 23, 2024
Applications of time-dependent configuration-interaction singles for photoelectrons in attosecond and free-electron laser sciences.
Mattias Bertolino
Lund University
I plan to give a general talk on my work during my PhD and in the end connect it to the project we have initiated.

Past seminars:

February 28, 2024
Excursion to J. Heyrovsky Institure of Physical Chemistry.
Pamir Nag, Martin Čížek
We visit the experimental group of Juraj Fedor and Pamir Nag in J. Heyrovsky Institure of Physical Chemistry. Pamir Nag will show us the three main experiments: 1) Velocity map imaging of negative ions formed in electron collisions with molecules, 2) Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS) of molecules and 3) liquid microjets. We will also discuss the scientific heritage of Michael Allan from Fribourg.
March 14, 2024
The two-center Coulomb problem and its application to the three-body systems: Resonant electron capture in ion-atomic collisions.
Mykhaylo Khoma
Institute of Electron Physics, Uzhgorod University
March 21, 2024
Report and discussion on ATTOCHEM conference.
Zdeněk Mašín
UTF, MFF UK
March 28, 2024
Asymptotic theory of multi-photon ionization.
Jakub Benda
UTF, MFF UK
April 18, 2024
Neural network diabatization and photoionization.
Journal club
Discussion based on papers available throught this link.
April 25, 2024
Discussion on electron scattering on molecules using single-center expantion.
Karel Houfek
UTF, MFF UK
May 2, 2024
Electron energy loss spectroscopy of conical intersection - time dependent approach.
Václav Kubíček
Student, MFF UK
May 16, 2024
Notes on use of nonlocal model for Coulombic continuum, dissociative recombination, Penning ionization etc.
Martin Čížek
UTF MFF UK
I will review previous works where nonlocal discrete-state-in-continuum model was used for Coulombic electron continuum. This involves processes like photoionization, dissociative recombination, Penning and associatie ionization. I try to estimate what is needed to further develop the formalism for our needs.
